Perrysburg Rowing Registration

High School 2025 Fall Season:

Rowing is an official school varsity sport open to all students in grades 9-12, and there are no tryouts or cuts. No prior experience is needed.

Fall registration is open to students in grades 9-12. The fee is $600 per rower.

Practices will be Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4:30 – 7pm beginning August 11.

The required swim test for new rowers is scheduled for August 12 at 5pm at the Perrysburg YMCA pool. More info to come.

Refund Policy:

If you withdraw from a session less than 7 days after it begins, you can receive a full refund of the registration fee.

How to Register:

Several important waivers and items are required to be completed before the first practice in order to participate. These include: (1) All Final Forms Requirements, (2) USRowing Waiver, (3) Toledo Rowing Waiver, and (4) Team Registration Form.

1. All Final Forms Requirements

An up-to-date physical and parent and student signatures are required. Athletes cannot attend practice if one or more of the requirements are incomplete.

2. USRowing Waiver

New rowers should go to membership.usrowing.org, click “Join,” enter in the required information for your rower, join our club (Organization #1212, Perrysburg Rowing. Club code: LYMKV), pay the basic membership fee, and sign the waiver.
If you are a returning rowing family, please login to your account at membership.usrowing.org to make sure the waiver is up-to-date.
Athletes cannot attend practice if the waiver is incomplete.

3. Toledo Rowing Waiver

Please go to toledorowing.org to complete the waiver:
Athletes will not be allowed to enter the boathouse until this is completed.

4. Team Registration Form

To register, complete and submit the registration form below, including both parent and rower signatures, the school liability waiver, and a credit card payment.

Perrysburg Rowing Members Code of Conduct

Perrysburg Rowing members (rowers and family members) are required to adhere to the CODE OF CONDUCT plus the special rules when traveling to regattas. If an infraction of the rules occurs, the coaches will determine what discipline, if any, will occur at the regatta. This discipline may include the athlete not being able to row at the regatta and/or the parents/guardians being asked to immediately pick up their son or daughter. Upon return from the regatta, the rule infraction will be reported to the Perrysburg Rowing Executive Board who will make a final recommendation to the Perrysburg Rowing Coach on the appropriate disciplinary action.

CODE OF CONDUCT

It is expected that Perrysburg Rowing (PR) rowers will…

Portray PR in a positive manner at all times.
Demonstrate and uphold high standards of good sportsmanship at all times.
Be punctual for practice and crew functions.
Support others on the team at home and away races.
Give proper respect to EVERYONE including parents, volunteers and teammates.
ALWAYS adhere to instruction/discipline from ANY coach.
Come to practice prepared to workout, in appropriate clothing and running shoes.
Use equipment as properly instructed.
Obey the Travel Policy for away races.
Not possess or use narcotics, alcoholic beverages, drugs, controlled substances, tobacco products, dangerous weapons or instruments.
Not participate in fighting, horseplay, vandalism, hazing, dishonesty, stealing or violations of the rights of others.
Not use obscene language or gestures.
Follow rules of racing at ALL times.
Be aware of the Toledo Rowing Foundation Code of Conduct as well as US Rowing as they apply as well.
Romantic relationships within PR are allowed. However, while participating in practice and regattas it is expected that those athletes respect the team and its members by refraining from any distractions while with the team and give the team 100% of their attention.

Mandatory Practice & Regatta Participation

If you know you are going to participate in other activities that may conflict with the Perrysburg Rowing schedule, you must submit the dates you are scheduled to miss to the coaches PRIOR to the beginning of season. Coaches need to approve all changes. Absences may result in fewer races (due to practice needs for regattas). Priority is given to rowers who attend all practices on time and with enthusiasm.

Plan your schedule around crew practice times. Contact your coach immediately (and 24 hours in advance) if you will miss practice for illness or injury. Unknown absences will delay the start of practice and hurt your team.

Excused absences only include: family emergency, illness, religious holiday or pre-approved school commitment (detention is an unexcused absence).

If you will be unavailable to participate in a regatta, FOR ANY REASON, you must notify your head coach immediately. Not attending regattas can negatively impact the team's ability to participate in races and may lead to disqualification for the team. A no call/no show to a regatta will result in immediate removal from the team.

SPECIAL TRAVEL RULES:

Athletes will not drive themselves to away regattas.
Athletes are not allowed to leave the regatta prior to a coach’s dismissal.

Perrysburg Rowing General Release Waiver

I hereby acknowledge that I am voluntarily participating in sports activities organized by the Perrysburg Rowing Team. I understand that these activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to bodily injury, property damage, and death, which may occur as a result of my participation. Therefore, I agree to the following terms:

RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY: I myself, spouse, and child, hereby release and forever discharge the Perrysburg Rowing organization, its directors, officers, agents, employees, and volunteers (collectively, the "Released Parties"), from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action that I may have now or in the future, arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me or to any property belonging to me, whether caused by the negligence of the Released Parties or otherwise.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK: I myself, spouse, and child, understand and acknowledge that my participation in the sports activities organized by the Perrysburg Rowing organization involves inherent risks, including but not limited to bodily injury, property damage, and death. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation in these activities.

INDEMNIFICATION: I myself, my spouse and child, agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from any and all claims, demands, and causes of action, including attorneys' fees and costs, arising out of or related to my participation in the sports activities organized by the Perrysburg Rowing organization.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF UNDERSTANDING: I myself, spouse, and child have read this sports waiver, fully understand its terms, and understand that I am giving up substantial rights, including my right to sue the Released Parties for any injury, death, or damages that may result from my participation in the sports activities organized by the Perrysburg Rowing organization.
